The moon and the park

Illinois Memorial
Full moon at Fort Hill

Old Abe at the Wisconsin Monument
Louisiana Monument

The last two full moons have been fun to shoot because I've done it from inside the Vicksburg National Military Park. I love the colors that arise on the horizon opposite the sunset as seen in the top photo. They are gorgeous blues and purples. Next time you see a sunset, turn around and see the colors you're missing!

  1. Marty, these are really amazing. Sunset is one of my favorite times of day. And sunrise where we are is good, too, in that it can make a firey show on the water as it rises in the East.

I have tagged you on my blog. I thought this would be an easy one for you because it's a photo tag! Hopefully, you can incorporate it into a post at some point.

  2. Truly awesome pictures, Marty. I love the colors in the first one and "Old Abe" looks very realistic in the moonlight.

I hope you have a good weekend and capture lots of pictures to share with us next week.
