The hidden jewel of the Vicksburg National Military Park is Mint Springs, just off Washington Street. It is a lovely area, steeped in history. The sound of water hitting that massive rock is as peaceful a sound as I can find. I went there just recently right after a hard rain and hit pay dirt! The rain had made all the colors of the foliage so dazzling, so much better than if I had ventured there on a sunny day. I love this place.
Marty, I can't believe that peaceful little spot is just off Washington Street! The colors after the rain are so rich ... I learn something from you every day!
