Cedar Hill Cemetery

I have shot photos in Cedar Hill Cemetery more times than I can count. So I was blown away when we discovered these urns filled with crystal clear rain water and how pretty they look with the blue reflection in them. It was an absolutely mesmerizing sight! I wish you could have been there!

Which do you like best — the color photos or the black-and-whites? I can't make up my mind or that I even want to! Let me know what you think, please.

  1. I wish I had been there, too, Marty ... darn it! Those are stunning pictures, as usual, and my favorite is the second from the bottom, with the gold-rimmed urn.

I doubt anyone else would have even noticed the urns, much less the reflections in them ... and you turned them into works of art. Excellent, Marty!

  2. The color always fills my eyes with all the details, all the glory of the scene.

Black and white give the pictures a timelessness, with the history writ in those gray images, much like my imagination conjures a past colored totally in the sepia of my picture albums, as if my ancestors wore that tanny-mud color always, and woke to a sunrise to match.

The second-from-last picture, though---that one captures the shade and the glint of sun and the feel of the air. Looking deep into that pool just might give you the histories and the lives of the people resting there, every one.

  3. I like the first one Marty and the second to the last one. I do like the black and white ones but my favorite are the ones in color. Great photos - always!

  4. 10287 is the picture # I get when I right click. Thats my favorite Marty. I love the color! I see color and am thankful for that gift! The B&W is "artsy" and fun to look at, but for me, the color ones do it! Thanks for sharing. Justin
