Canton, Mississippi
It's Canton Week. A while back, my blogging friend Janie, over at http://southernlagniappe.blogspot.com, issued me a challenge for us to go shoot at separate times a portion of Mississippi that neither of us has ever photographed. We decided on the square and the surrounding two blocks of Canton. Once done, we were to compare what we shot and she how well we matched or saw things completely different. I was planning on going back one more time to shoot the square, but circumstances have popped up in my way, so I am making do with my one trip there. We were supposed to pick our favorite 25 pictures, but that is cruel and unusual punishment for something so fun, so for this week I will show you what I shot. Go to Janie's site to look at what she captured!

Marty, what fun this is going to be!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, especially your shots of the sun and moon viewed through the iron fence ... and only you could capture the dome with the moon in the background like that.
I love the bench, too, and need to go back and see if I can find that magnolia ... it's beautiful, and I missed it! I can't wait to see what else I missed, and see the things I did see from your perspective.
One of my best High School friends still lives there, so I'm e-mailing her to have a look.
ReplyDeleteI DO love seeing the old places through two different sets of eyes.
