Jordan Chapel in Campbell Swamp, built by Gordon Cotton and the late Hobbs Freeman, is an absolutely stunning structure. Gordon and Hobbs gave me a tour of the place a few weeks ago and I so appreciate it. The sun was streaming through the stained glass windows of the little chapel and cast some wonderful colors. Everything in the chapel has a story and it is a very reverent place.
I've been back three times just for the translucence of that candle, alone.
ReplyDeleteYou do beat all.
Marty, this really makes me cry... but in a good way.
ReplyDeleteSheila :-)
My boyfriend and I went out driving today to find this chapel and went all the way around Campbell swamp road. Neither of us could see the chapel from the road. I would love to find it. I love old and unusual churches.
