Downtown Vicksburg

This ivy-covered window frame on what remains of a building behind the old Koestler's at the intersection of Washington and Bridge streets near downtown Vicksburg caught my eye the other day and I went and photographed it this past weekend. I haven't figured out what I love about this scene, but I think it is one neat picture!

Snow in Vicksburg

Here are some more photos from Vicksburg and the Vicksburg National Military Park following a snowfall last Friday night. Gen. Grant and his horse, above, stand sentinel over the park.
Four leaves aren't ready to make the leap on this tree in downtown Vicksburg Friday night.

The lake on Tucker Road early Saturday morning. I don't know the name of the lake.

Cedar Hill Cemetery

I never know what to expect when I venture into Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg. There is always something new, but I was not expecting to find the buzzard, above, sunning himself as a new day started in early November. Kind of spooky. The photos at the bottom were taken during what I call the magic moments, the time of day when the sun casts a golden sheen over everything for just a few minutes. Then, poof, it's gone. Two friends of mine, Robert Walker and Ritch Southard, were with me and both took some excellent images on this day.

Random photos downtown

I consider this photo to be one of the five best I have taken this year. I love the composition and the early morning light really makes the columns of the Old Court House Museum sing! And don't forget to notice the little bird on top of the first column!

Here's a closeup of another column, another popular bird hangout.

This is the kind of colors you see before sunrise. It was gorgeous and really accented Bloom Fountain and the bell tower of the Old Court House Museum.

A light at the Firehouse Gallery casts a warm glow in the night around it.

Random shots from Mint Springs

Here are some more images from Mint Springs, located in the Vicksburg National Military Park. God's Glory is so amazing, isn't it?

Shoot, I ran out of week to show you more photos from Cedar Hill Cemetery! I'll show'em to you later, OK? Hey, have a nice weekend, everybody. Thanks for visiting. Send this blog to all your friends who you think may enjoy it! I would appreciate it!

Cedar Hill Cemetery

I have shot photos in Cedar Hill Cemetery more times than I can count. So I was blown away when we discovered these urns filled with crystal clear rain water and how pretty they look with the blue reflection in them. It was an absolutely mesmerizing sight! I wish you could have been there!

Which do you like best — the color photos or the black-and-whites? I can't make up my mind or that I even want to! Let me know what you think, please.
