Hercules Cafeteria in Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Think of Hattiesburg and the name Hercules will soon be mentioned. My aunt lived in Hattiesburg right near the plant and I can remember its sprawling grounds from my earliest childhood on our visits to that city. But what caught my eye the other day when I was exploring the town on an early Saturday morning was the now-unused cafeteria of the plant, located on a street right across from the Hercules factory. Could anyone please tell me what architectural style this building is? It almost looks like something Frank Lloyd Wright would design. Maybe modern? I don't believe it is Art Deco, but I could be wrong. It is a beautiful building that I hate is in such a state of disrepair.

The beauty of rust

Two of my other finds in my explorations around the old part of downtown Hattiesburg a couple of weeks ago was this Willys Jeep and steam locomotive. The jeep was tucked behind a building and the train is located at the train depot. Rust is taking its toll on the two vehicles.

Hattiesburg, Mississippi

I shot photos in the old part of downtown Hattiesburg a couple of Saturdays ago and had the best time! The photo above of a sign in a closed store is one of my favorite photos taken this year. I just love it! Foks, you can't make this stuff up!

A building had recently been torn down to reveal these two painted signs on the side of the adjoining building. I can just taste a Grape Nehi right now. I tried Royal Crown when I was younger but never did acquire a taste for it. But I do love those Moon Pies. (OK, only the old fogies out there will understand that last sentence!)

I shot gobs more pics I will show at a later time. Did you hug your loved ones and tell them that you loved them, as I asked yesterday? Make it a habit...
