Here are some of the special treasures of the Vicksburg National Military Park....the birds.

Capt. Hickenlooper

Here is one of my favorite statues in the Vicksburg National Military Park. He's Capt. Hickenlooper, an engineer. He holds a pair of binoculars in his right hand. He is often overlooked by tourists because he is in the turnaround for the Illinois  Memorial. He built a lot of the trenchworks and even now looks like he is surveying where the next one should go.

Louisiana Monument

Some of my favorite photos of the Louisiana Monument. This monument is located on the highest hill in the park. It's a majestic monument, standing tall the way it does.
