God things

My wife and I, along with our good friends Joe and Judy Tom, visited Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, in early November. I figured out one thing about myself on the trip: I enjoy taking photos of God things much more than Man things. The photo above is what I consider to be the best photo I took on the trip, a little waterfall on the grounds of Biltmore Estate. It is one my favorite photos of the year. It is much more prettier to me than that great big ol' house and all its fancy furnishings. Give me a pond and cypress knees any day! Click on the photo to enlarge it to see the details!

  1. You are truly a master at capturing God's glory, Marty, and that photo is a work of art. It's absolutely breathtaking.

  2. Yes, your eye and lens are masters at portraying the glories of the outdoors---especially your sunrise or sunset pictures---they're all moments for a heartfelt, "How Great Thou Art."

There's a sermon in every picture, subtle or blazing, and I've counted your blog as one of my great blessings in the year since we met.

You can evoke feelings and emotions with the mere click of a shutter, and I cannot imagine how you must feel about having that talent.

  3. I have been reading/watching your blog since I saw one of your pictures on one of my friends FB page. I love your photos! I grew up in Vicksburg and it is so neat to see pictures of things that I took for granted growing up!
