Stumbled upon some old trains and track equipment while driving through Louisiana the other day. Even a train sitting still is magnificent. But they can't outrun the rust...
I got so carried away with the silver span of those tracks, that I forgot to mention #5---that lone light in the midst of that blue with all the rust resembles the eye of a barnacled old whale, beached and looking around warily at the gathering crowd for help.
THank you, thank you, Marty---I've had a lifelong love affair with the lonesome sound of a train passin' through at night.
ReplyDeleteThe tracks ran close enough to our house to sing me to sleep every night, and I've had a track-walkin' post knocking around in my head for a while.
That first picture would be perfect for it. I love ANYTHING about old trains.
