This weekend in Vicksburg

I spent a lot of time in the Vicksburg National Military Park and downtown Vicksburg this past weekend and captured these photos. The fog Sunday morning was absolutely glorious. A couple of these photos I consider some of my best work ever. I am so appreciative that the Lord gave me the gift of enjoying his creation down to the little details as that found in leaves and a bit of fog on a hillside. His beauty shines all around us during this time of year and I am glad.

  1. I love all of these, Marty---the groups of things---turkeys and deer and cannons all treated with the simple respect of your lens, and the statues. Oh, the men framed in bronze, especially the one who looks as if cold snow and a bitter North wind are blowing his coat and chilling his soul.

And the misty cleft through the ghostly trees, and then the sunburst falling upon the cannon---these ARE wonderful work, with a masterful eye and an honoring gaze.

    Beautiful, one and all.

  2. Rachel said everything I wanted to say, and so much better than I could ever say it. What a glorious collection of masterpieces, Marty.

Best wishes to you and your family for the best Thanksgiving celebration ever.
