I was in Washington, D.C., recently and was able to spend some time shooting photos at the National Mall, Arlington Cemetery and the Potomac River. Here are some of my shots of the Washington Monument. Two guys actually came up to me and asked what the big pointy statue was. Unbelievable.
I always think about the Washington Monument when I drive past the "big pointy statue" just outside of Jackson.
