Layers of life

My gorgeous wife, Karen, and I drove up to Hot Springs, Ark., for the weekend and had a great time exploring that city and some of the lakes surrounding it. I have learned I can either go on trips as a husband or father or as a photographer. I can't do both because it drives the people I go with crazy. But I did manage to snap this photo of a hillside near Lake Ouachita with my iPhone. I love the layers and how they curve around. There's a lot of life recorded here and I am enjoying looking at all the layers and imagining how this came to be. Our God is a great God and He can make dirt layers look absolutely stunning!

  1. Marty, I couldn't help but laugh at your comment about going on trips as a husband, father, or photographer. I can certainly relate to that. It drives my husband crazy, too, when I'm constantly saying, "Oh, stop ... can you turn around? ... I need a picture of that!"

I'm glad you were able to capture the picture of the hillside. It is truly amazing to be able to see all those layers of history ... if only we could decipher them.
