In the deepest snow, the bitterest cold---the Promise of Spring.
This is wonderfully welcome on this 12 degree day! We have an inherited set of tulips---red ones and yellow ones---which come up every year---three blooms by the front walk and about five in the hosta bed out back.
They must have been planted by a former owner, for we've had this house twelve years. I didn't know bulbs would survive that long. They are a testament to Keepin' on Keepin' on.
We just look out one day, and there they are---bright and cheery, just like always.
So beautiful, Marty ... especially on this snowy Friday morning in Vicksburg.
