Tucson, Arizona: Catalina State Park

My visit in Tucson ended with a walk through the Catalina State Park. They have several wonderful trails throughout the park. It was a mesmerizing and peaceful experience, one I can't wait to do again. I am in love with the Arizona landscape.

SuperMoon rising and setting

My wife, Karen, and I were in Jackson Saturday and were able to make it to the Ross Barnett Reservoir to see the Super Moon rise. It appeared magically through the haze and got brighter and brighter as it rose. What a sight!

When we got back to Vicksburg we rode through downtown and got this shot at Holy Trinity, First Baptist and the Old Court House Museum.

I got up at 5 a.m. Sunday morning to watch the Super Moon set. I first went to Cedar Hill Cemetery hoping I could shoot the above photo. My heart was pounding when I first saw the scene above. It was a glorious sight and very reverent, as well. I believe this is God's Glory at its finest.

Click on the photos to enlarge them for better viewing if you would like.

I next ventured to see the moon set behind the bridges. These photos were taken from the base of the parking garage of Ameristar. I was shooting with only a monopod because I hate fooling with tripods.

The photo above is my favorite.

I was thankful that a tow with barges passed through the city while I was at the river.
The moon set just as quickly as it appeared, disappearing into a haze at the horizon. I am thankful I got to see it all in person.
